Smart Posting: Branding on Social Media
Today, I would like to talk about your brand and the
pictures of you on social media sites. I
will be honest with you all, I like to go out and have fun with my friends just
like everyone else after a long week of school, but in the back of your mind
you should know what to expect the next day if you decide to have too much fun. Social media as we should know by know has
become the go to source for how the world sees us. Our social media site is showing the whole
world who we are and what we do in our every day lives. Take for example this gentleman.
This guy could be a brilliant marketing student, but when
his friends are posting pictures like this on Facebook and tagging him in them,
that is exposing them for the whole world to see. In this situation, he should remove the tag,
tell his friends to take the pictures down, or change his privacy
settings. He does none of the above he
may be kissing his great internship goodbye.
But it isn’t just pictures from that great party last night
that you should be worried about.
Posting status updates that are idiotic are bad for your brand. The way I see it, I wouldn’t post anything
that I wouldn’t want my family to see.
It amazes me that some people have no shame in posting stuff about bad
relationships, or drinking till they can’t remember what happened. Of you think you will regret what you said,
then don’t bother sharing it with the social media world.
Because Facebook is a more personal social media site than
LinkedIn, employers are more likely to check Facebook than any other site to
see if you are the real deal all around.
If they go on and see a picture similar to the gentleman above, you
won’t be getting the job of your dream.
You don’t have to stop having fun with your friends, but just remember
that anyone can see your picture and posts, unless you make some smart changes
to your profile.
I will end with a good video I found by Brit Michaelian from
Work Smart Lifestyle. I would strongly encourage subscribing to her channel for
other important branding tips.
Thank you guys so much and remember to comment and let me
know your feelings about social media branding and smart posting.

Miss Universe in the Philippines
Hey everyone. Check out the Facebook page my group made for our social media class by clicking the link below, but before you do let me explain a bit about it's origin. We are trying to promote the Miss Universe pageant to be held in the Philippines in 2013. We have received a lot of likes from many individuals outside on the U.S. People from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia and many other places have found and followed us. Two of the people in our group did an internship with the Miss Universe pageant and interviewed a few Filipinos who said that the Miss Philippines is just one of two big figures in the Philippines. So please help support our page by pressing the like button and share with your friends. It would wonderful if our page could make a huge voice in the decision of the Miss Universe pageant.

Brand Biography
Today, I would like to share my input on writing your personal brand biography. When we want to pitch ourselves to an employer in crunch time we perform an elevator pitch. In the 30 seconds you must tell the person or company who you are and what you can bring to the company. The problem with elevator speeches is that the person listening will stop caring within 10-15 seconds of your pitch. You should try to catch their attention in one sentence. If you are given a longer length of time to speak you would want to go with the longer pitch. The short, shorter, and shortest model helps people with their pitches. Here are my three pitches for being a filmmaker and screenwriter.
Shortest- I’m a passionate filmmaker interested in
continuing my career in filmmaking and screenwriting.
Shorter- I’m a passionate filmmaker interested in continuing
my career in filmmaking and screenwriting. I am currently working with a
student film crew called Lucifeatures. I work as a grip and production
assistant for the film we are currently in pre-production for called How John Boscoe Outsung the Devil. I
have been exploring the world of screenwriting and writing for television show
and movie ideas I have been developing on my own.
Short- I’m a passionate filmmaker interested in continuing
my career in filmmaking and screenwriting. I am currently working with a
student film crew called Lucifeatures. I work as a grip and production
assistant for the film we are currently in pre-production for called How John Boscoe Outsung the Devil. The
movie is about a prideful bass singer in Nashville, Tennessee who must chose
his family or fame when he faces his biggest competitor, the Devil. We will be
filming in the beginning of March in Nashville Tennessee. I am also working with the same group of
people on a short film that we have to write, produce, and direct in 48
hours. I will be serving as a writer and
a grip for the production. I have been
exploring the world of screenwriting and writing for television show and movie
ideas I have been developing on my own.
Try and develop this various biographies of yourself and maybe you'll getting the job you''ve been dreaming of.
